Tammy Flippo’s Bio

A life-long resident of Coventry, Tammy Flippo was born to Wilma and Joe Flippo on January 12, 1965, joining a family that included 9 children.  An Oaker at heart, Tammy graduated from CHS in 1983.

After high school, Tammy married and had three wonderful children, Thomas, Joseph and Cassandra.  They are the joy of her life which she considers her biggest accomplishment.  They have given her 6 beautiful grandchildren, Madison, Celina, Hayden, Chase, Ryleigh and Abby.  For Tammy, family is her number one priority.

Tammy attended CCRI, taking classes in accounting and was able to secure a job in this field working for Lamson Building Corporation for many years.  Continuing her work in the accounting/bookkeeping field, Tammy secured a real estate license and began selling real estate and managing properties while also doing accounting at night for several different companies.   After continuing her real estate and accounting work and running a floor-covering business, Tammy chose to go back to just accounting and since has been happy working for a great family-owned company, 3 Z Realty LLC.     In 2019, she teamed up with Ernie Nardolillo, Maria Zarokostas and Ilias Zarokostas to form a new business and purchase The Olde Theater Diner in Coventry.   As of today, she still works for 3 Z Realty and still own The Olde Theater Diner.

A avid softball player until a career-ending leg injury, Tammy turned her interest to the Coventry Little League where she volunteered for over 8 years, serving as a coach, a member of the board of directors, and a worker at the concession stand.  She helped to raise funds so the kids of Coventry could have safety equipment and safe fields to play on. She was very involved from start to the completion of construction of the Little League field on Wood Street in Coventry.  This took several years but it was a great accomplishment for all that were involved.

Tammy has been involved in many other organizations and causes over the years.  For 6-7 years Tammy was very involved with the National Bicycle League (NBL) for children ages 5 to 18, which helped kids learn how to compete in a safe and enjoyable environment.  She helped raise funds for children who wanted to race but whose families could not afford the registration fees.  With this fund some of these kids were able to compete.    Tammy traveled all over the United States, volunteering her time, helping at all the races.  For a few years Tammy helped to raise funds for Meeting Street School by organizing motorcycle runs, raffles auctions and 50/50 raffles, which all helped the school.

When the Barone Family of Coventry lost their home and vehicle in a devastating fire, Tammy put together a fundraiser within 7 days to help them.  Enough money was raised to get them some clothing, personal needs, and a vehicle.

Two years ago, there was a devastating fire in West Warwick, the gentlemen who lived there with his wife worked for the same company I did.  Tammy was able to secure donations and an apartment to help the couple while helping them with their immediate needs in the aftermath of the fire.

Tammy has continued to give of her time and energy volunteering for Living Innovations (helping the mentally ill), providing housing and training programs.  In addition, she has raised funds to help schools and fund scholarships.  Many adults and children are in a much better place due to Tammy’s efforts.  The CHSAA is proud to recognize her as a member of the CHS Alumni Hall of Fame.
