Meghan Doucette Eddings’ Bio

Megan Eddings of the Coventry High School Class of 1999 fondly looks back at her experiences at CHS and she always says that no matter where she lives, she is always “a northeasterner”. Megan was voted Class President all 4 years and after graduating from Coventry High School, Megan attended The University of Virginia, where she majored in Chemistry with a specialization in Biochemistry. She thought she would work in a science lab as her career, but after working in bio-chem labs at The University of Virginia and Brown University, she realized that she was way too outgoing to be around Petri dishes all day.

Megan became a successful Medical Equipment Sales Representative for 14 years which brought her to Texas. However, it was not until she was in her mid-30s, when she found her passion: inspiring others through entrepreneurship. With her background in Chemistry, she invented Prema® fabric. She was tired of throwing away her husband’s stinky workout clothes, so she invented Prema®. Prema® is 100% sourced and made in the USA, antibacterial and odor resistant. Besides inventing Prema®, she also invented a reusable/washable medical isolation gown, which is being sold by Siemens. Megan’s Accel Unite Reusable Isolation Gown won first place in the USA as part of a national woman-owned business competition.

Megan has always loved giving back and she has been giving 2 scholarships to Coventry High School Seniors, focusing on seniors that want to pursue a career in STEM and students who also like to give back to their community.

Megan is a Guest Lecturer at The University of Virginia, Rice University, University of Houston, and Houston Community College. She was voted “Top 40 under 40” by the Houston Business Journal, Top 50 Most Influential Houstonians by the Houston Woman’s Magazine, and she even has a day named after her in Houston, May 24th is proclaimed “Megan Eddings Day” for her philanthropy work.

“Kindness is free to give and it feels immeasurably good when received” Megan Eddings
