Great night had by all!
The Coventry High School Alumni Association had its annual Alumni Hall of Fame Induction Dinner on November 4 at Quidnessett Country Club. More than 130 people turned out to support the inductees for 2020 and 2021. Music was provided by Bob Tremblay and the colors we presented by the NJROTC Falcon Color Guard as the pledge of allegiance was led by John Ball. Kevin Dolan took photos for the evening. Brooke Macomber, Principal at CHS, offered greetings from the high school.
Ten individuals were inducted: For 2020, Ken Grady ’65 and former English teacher, Maureen Jendzejec ’75, Myron Gadoury ’71, Michele St. Pierre Sweeney ’81 and Nancy Sprengelmeyer, former English teacher; For 2021, The Olde Theatre Diner with individual inductees Tammy Flippo ’83 and Ernie Nardolillo ‘95, Carolyn Chirnside, former English teacher and department chair, Chief Stanley J. Mruk ’43, Anthony Fire Chief, and Dr. Mary Skurka St. Amand ’75. Members of the family, friends, or former students spoke on behalf of the candidates. These inductions bring the total number of inductees to 48 individuals and one group (The Air Force Junior ROTC group).
Many thanks to the committee members Jo-Ann Passarelli, Lori DiCostanzo, Maureen Jendzejec, Jim Kuipers, Kathy and Amanda Lavallee, Kevin Dolan, and John Ball for their hard work and assistance during this event. The CHSAA is indebted to the staff at Quidnessett who did an amazing job preparing and serving the meal, helping to make our evening a success.
To add to the excitement of the evening, Tammy Flippo announced that she and Ernie Nardolillo have raised $4200 at a recent golf tournament for CHSAA scholarships. This donation will help us to continue to support the students at CHS.
